Activity Days in January

We started the year off for Activity Days by having a PJ's Party! PJ's stands for prayer, journal, and scriptures. All the girls could wear their pjs to the activity if they wanted to. We talked about the importance of praying every morning and night and then the girls made little prayer pillows to keep on their beds to help them remember to do that. We talked about how important it is to write in our journals all the time. The girls each made a pen with an artificial flower attached to use to write in their journals. And then we talked about the importance of daily scripture study. This went along so wonderfully with the theme for Primary this year. We then made a book mark to use in our scriptures. The girls left very excited to work on these three areas of their lives.

Our next activity was talking all about service. We looked up scriptures to share about why we do service and the most important thing the girls learned is that when they are serving others, there are serving our Heavenly Father. We then brainstormed some ideas of how we could do service for others and wrote the ideas down in our journals. Then we made a Kiss Countdown chain as a reminder and reward for doing service over the next two weeks. Each girls got 14 Hershey's kisses and tied them together in cellophane and each day they did an act of service over the next 14 days, they could eat one of the kisses. I'm excited to hear about all the service they did at our next activity!
