Resurrection rolls -- recipe

Resurrection Rolls
1 tube of crescent rolls (makes 8)
butter
large marshmallows
Cinnamon
Sugar
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven according to crescent roll directions.
  2. Give child a crescent roll (represents Jesus)
  3. Give child a marshmallow (represents the cloth Jesus was wrapped in during his burial)
  4. Tell child to dip marshmallow in melted butter. (represents burial oils for his body)
  5. Tell child to roll marshmallow in cinnamon and sugar. (represents spices used to anoint his body)
  6. Place marshmallow in crescent roll. Fold dough around each side of the marshmallow. Do not roll it. The marshmallow will leak out. (represents the wrapping of Jesus’ body after his death).
  7. Place in the oven for 10-12 minutes. (oven represents the tomb).
  8. Open the roll after cooling. The marshmallow is gone. (represents Jesus is no longer in the tomb, but has risen)
The marshmallow melts inside the roll creating the metaphor for the lesson.
