Spring Activity Days

We have been so busy with Activity Days this spring in the Bermuda Dunes Ward!

In February, we started the month by making a babysitting kit. We got the idea from this blog which had lots of cute activities and printables to go with the kits. Then for our next activity, we had a fun get to know you night where we welcomed in two new girls who had just turned 8. We played some fun get to know you games and found out that we have a lot more in common than we thought!

Our first activity in March was learning to lead music. After practicing how to lead, they then made some word strips for the primary chorister to help teach the Primary the song "Praise to the Man". The girls were so excited to see their work this month as they are learning that song for May. Our second activity was called R.E.D. (read every day). The girls could come dressed in red and brought their favorite book to talk about and share with the other girls. They each made a list of the books they liked so they could get them at the library if they hadn't read it before. All our girls are amazing readers!

In April, our first activity was making a bracelet for our moms for Mother's Day. One of our primary teachers gave us a big box of beads and we were able to use those for our craft. For our second activity, Sis. F. taught the girls how to do regular braids and fishtail braids in their hair. They each had a partner and practiced doing those braids in each other's hair.

For May, we had two fun but different activities. Luckily for our first activity, the weather was still cool enough that we were able to go outside and use our new pavilion. We had a night of fitness playing tag, having a three-legged race, and tossing water balloons. Although I think the most favorite thing was when the sprinklers came on and the girls were able to get totally soaked. Our activity just last week was really special. We talked about testimonies and what a testimony is and how we gain a testimony. We looked up scriptures and read a story out of the Friend. Then the girls had a chance to bear their testimony if they wanted to, holding on to Sis. B.'s teddy bear to help them feel warm about sharing their testimonies. They also wrote their testimonies down in their Faith in God books.

We have such a wonderful group of girls!
